ISLAMIA HIGH SCHOOL
This school started as a private initiative up to primary level in a single room with the help of late Abdul Rauf resident of Malerkotla who was associated with Jamat- e- islami in the year 1985. Some members of Muslim welfare society mandi Gobindgarh, late Sh. Hasan Mohammad and Sh. Fateh Mohammad president Muslim supported financially and physically.
In April 1989 the Punjab Wakf Board took over the management. The Board constructed 04 rooms, the school was later upgraded it 8th standard and then 10th standard in 1995. In fresh trained teachers were appointed by the Board and the school got affiliation from Punjab School Education Board, Mohali. Further in the year 1999 with the financial support of the Board, 5 classrooms, principal office, science lab., toilets were constructed and painted. From 2000 to 2004 computer lab, sports room, and other necessary infrastructure was made available by the board to start the 10th standard. From 1997 due to the good result of the board classes after the affiliation of 10th standard, strength of students reached 400+ due to education and result. The school at present has a smart room, library, fully equipped computer lab, science lab and all support required to make the learining journey of the students enjoyable and meaningful. Training of teachers to upgrade their knowledge and skills, interactive meeting with the parents are the regular features and strength of our school. we believe in holistic education.
ACTIVITIES
Activities like speeches, debates, outdoor sports like cricket, volley ball, football, kabbadi, kho- kho, athletics indoor sports like carom board , chess are encouraged and students are guided and coached as per their interest and skills.
